🎯 Job Purpose

The Programme Associate (School Meals), G6 position plays a fundamental role within the Egypt Country Office. Working under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer (School Meals), the incumbent will support technical, operational, administrative, and coordination-related tasks necessary for the successful implementation of school feeding activities under WFP’s Country Strategic Plan.

📝 1. Provide Technical Support for Programme Implementation

The Programme Associate will actively support the development and implementation of school feeding initiatives. Tasks include:

  • Supporting policy alignment between WFP and government priorities
  • Ensuring that programme activities adhere to national strategies on education, nutrition, and social protection
  • Assisting in the design and refinement of operational plans, implementation guidelines, and field tools
  • Participating in technical meetings with government bodies, NGOs, and development partners
  • Offering specialized input based on programme trends, challenges, and local context analyses

This includes contributing to the creation of materials such as operational manuals, training packages, monitoring tools, and documentation used nationwide across different school feeding interventions.


📊 2. Prepare Analytical Reports & Data Insights

The Programme Associate will gather, analyse, organize, and interpret programme data to support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing analytical reports on food assistance needs, nutritional gaps, and programme performance
  • Producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Highlighting emerging trends, risks, and opportunities

🎓 Education Requirements

  • Additional certification in project management, monitoring and evaluation, or humanitarian operations is considered an asset.

Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in:

  • Programme or project implementation
  • Development or humanitarian operations
  • School feeding, nutrition, education, or food assistance
  • Government liaison, partner coordination, or field monitoring

🛠 Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical and data-management skills
  • Experience coordinating with governments, NGOs, and development actors
  • Ability to supervise field activities and monitor partner implementation
  • Strong communication and organizational capacities
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
